A tall black oval rimmed in gold, with a stylised golden aircraft shape rising through ALASKA AIRLINES in red lettering and the slogan Serving All Alaska below. The design speaks to the airline's roots in the territory. It grew from Star Air Service, founded in Anchorage in April 1932, which became Star Air Lines in 1937 and Alaska Star Airlines in 1942 before taking the Alaska Airlines name in 1943 and 1944. After the war it moved from bush flying into scheduled service with its Starliner fleet.
