Spread blue-and-white wings frame a red roundel with a white star above a blue globe, ringed with the name Alaska Star Airlines. The name had a short life. Star Air Service was founded in Anchorage in April 1932, became Star Air Lines in 1937 and Alaska Star Airlines on 6 July 1942, then changed again to Alaska Airlines in September 1943. That brief window makes this one of the earliest pieces of the airline's identity, from the wartime years before the Alaska Airlines name and its postwar Starliners.
