Curaçao's famous row of brightly painted Dutch colonial houses lines the water in this early-1970s poster for American Airlines. The scene recalls the Handelskade in Willemstad, the island capital, where gabled merchant houses in pinks, yellows and blues face the harbor channel. Dealers note the poster's cut-paper look, which gives the buildings a playful, collage-like quality typical of American's graphic posters from around 1970. The artist is not recorded.
