A twin-engine Flagship with AA on its nose flies across a cream route map that links Mexico City and Monterrey with San Antonio, Dallas, Fort Worth, El Paso, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington and New York, under the Spanish banner La Ruta Internacional de los Flagships. Along the bottom runs the name American Airlines de Mexico, S.A., the subsidiary American created to fly into Mexico. American's first Mexico service opened in 1942, a DC-3 flight from Dallas to Mexico City by way of Monterrey, and it called its aircraft Flagships from 1936.
