A cheerful, chubby Boeing 767 in American's polished silver with red, white and blue stripes sits inside a red ring beneath the AA eagle, with 767 LuxuryLiner lettered below. The AA mark began as Massimo Vignelli's 1967 design of two Helvetica A's, red and blue, to which the airline insisted the eagle be added; it stayed in use until January 2013. The eagle itself traces back to a 1930s company design contest. Airlines handed out stickers like this to passengers, and children especially, to decorate their luggage.
