Sheet No. 217 holds four small roundels and one large one, each showing the navy eagle between two red A's ringed by the American Airlines name. Printed directions explain the old water-slide method, soak them in water, slide them off the paper and stick them on, and suggest using them on model planes, books, luggage and autos. The eagle and initials emblem dates from a company design contest in the early 1930s, won by Goodrich Murphy, and was used in versions for about three decades.
