This American Airlines Inc. label spreads the airline's network across a map of the United States, its routes traced in red from coast to coast, with the eagle pennant and "The Flagship Fleet" lettered on the left. American unveiled its Flagship service on June 26, 1936, naming each of its airliners as a Flagship, and some 94 Flagship planes flew between 1936 and 1946. Airlines handed out stickers like this to passengers to put on their luggage, and this one carried the whole route system wherever its traveler went.
