Pure 1960s fun: this Ansett-ANA poster invites Australians to "Go gay at Surfers... Paradise Party" on a "Golden Jet Holiday," with a cartoon beach party spilling across a bright blue ground. Ansett-ANA was formed when Ansett Transport Industries took over Australian National Airways in 1957, and in the mid-1960s it promoted itself as the "System of the Golden Jets," flying Boeing 727 and Douglas DC-9 jets. Surfers Paradise, on Queensland's Gold Coast, was then growing fast as a holiday resort. The artist is not recorded.
