Avianca's 1961 poster "Rutas de Avianca – Primera en las Américas" (Avianca Routes – First in the Americas) spreads a colorful map of North and South America across a red ground, with an airliner tracing the network. The slogan rests on the airline's long pedigree: it traces its origins to SCADTA, founded in Barranquilla in December 1919. In the year this poster was issued, Avianca leased Boeing 707s for its international routes and took delivery of its own Boeing 720 jets in November 1961. The artist is not recorded.
