A grinning cartoon 737-300 floats past white clouds on a lime-green roundel, its type number painted on the fuselage and the Boeing name set below. The 737-300 first flew on February 24, 1984, and entered service later that year as the first of the stretched, re-engined generation now called the 737 Classic. Boeing built 1,113 of the -300, and it became a familiar sight at airports around the world through the 1980s and 1990s.
