A map of New England with an airliner overhead urges travelers to "Fly - Save Time!" in this restored vintage-style design for Boston-Maine Airways and Central Vermont Airways. Both were railroad airlines: the Boston and Maine Railroad launched Boston-Maine Airways on 11 August 1933 with eight-passenger Stinsons between Boston, Portland and Bangor, and the Central Vermont Railroad followed with Central Vermont Airways that October. National Airways flew both under one timetable, reaching Vermont, New Hampshire and, from 1934, Montreal. In 1940 the airline became Northeast Airlines.
