Rather than a passenger souvenir, this red-and-cream label is a piece of working airline paperwork. Headed 'Braniff International Airways', it has blank lines marked 'Office' and 'Station' and the words 'Board Mail' across the bottom band, where a small airliner silhouette flies past, suggesting it was used to route company mail between Braniff stations. Braniff began in 1928 between Oklahoma City and Tulsa, and the Braniff International Airways name dates from its move into South America, where scheduled service began in June 1948.
