Pressed in gold foil, this round label shows a banner bearing a globe and a star beneath the Braniff International Airways name, with 'El Dorado' in flowing script and 'Serving the Americas' around the lower edge. In 1957 Braniff launched Douglas DC-7C service to South America under the El Dorado name, borrowing the legend of the fabled city of gold for its flights linking the United States with the southern continent. The shimmering foil makes the label a fitting match for the name it carries.
