The nose of a Britannia Boeing 767 bursts out of a red ring above the airline's name and a bold blue '767', circled by the words 'A New Dimension in Passenger Service'. Britannia became the first European airline to fly the Boeing 767, which joined its fleet in the 1980s. Based at Luton, the holiday carrier had already been the first in Europe with the Boeing 737 back in 1968, and by 1972 it was the largest of Britain's independent charter airlines.
