Clean and simple, this strip pairs the 'British airways' wordmark, 'British' in red over 'airways' in blue, with a cropped corner of the Union Jack. A quartered Union Jack on the tail was the signature of the airline's first livery, designed by Negus & Negus and unveiled in 1973, the year before British Airways itself came into being in 1974. That scheme served until the Landor design, unveiled in December 1984, replaced it. Airlines handed out stickers like this for passengers to put on their luggage.
