Three slanting green stripes rise above the red Cathay Pacific name, with 777 picked out in white italic numerals across a solid green band at the bottom. The sticker celebrates the Boeing 777 in Cathay's fleet. The airline was founded in Hong Kong on 24 September 1946 by former wartime pilots Roy Farrell and Sydney de Kantzow, whose first aircraft was a Douglas DC-3 nicknamed Betsy, and Swire became a key shareholder two years later.
