Big blue script spelling "Group" fills this Continental Airlines baggage tag, with the airline's name and blue-and-white globe emblem at the top and a faint globe pattern behind. Tags like this marked the bags of tour and group travelers so they could be kept together. The globe identity, created by Lippincott, replaced Continental's earlier red emblem in 1991 and stayed until 2012. By then Continental, founded as Varney Speed Lines in 1934, had merged with United in 2010.
