This round Continental Air Lines label shows a chief in a full feathered headdress, turned in profile against a red and blue sunburst, ringed by a deep blue band with CONTINENTAL across the top and AIR LINES below. Continental began in 1934 as Varney Speed Lines, flying airmail and passengers out of El Paso, and became Continental Air Lines on 8 July 1937. Robert F. Six chose the name because he aimed to fly in every direction across the United States.
