Cubana's first Super Constellation, an L-1049E, was delivered in early 1953 and put on the Madrid route. The new airliners let Cubana serve Mexico City and New York and fly more often to Madrid via Bermuda, the Azores and Lisbon, the glamorous long-haul era this label recalls.
