Delta's hometown gets the full treatment in this 1974 poster: an illustrated collage of Atlanta set on a white ground, with gleaming modern towers, a sports stadium and touches of the Old South side by side. Delta had made Atlanta its home after starting out as a crop-dusting operation in the Mississippi River Delta in 1925, and the city's growth and the airline's grew together. In 1959 Delta became the first airline to fly the Douglas DC-8, and in 1960 the first to fly the Convair 880, jets that put Atlanta firmly on the national map. The artist of this poster is not recorded.
