Delta Air Lines promoted Denver with this 1975 poster, and rather than a skyline or an airport it chose the Colorado high country. A stand of aspens glows in full autumn gold, their pale trunks rising beside a clear mountain stream that runs through the foreground. Loose, painterly brushwork and warm yellows set against cool blues give the scene the feel of an easel painting, the same approach seen in Delta's Miami and Germany posters from the same decade. The artist is not recorded on our copy. It is a quiet, seasonal portrait of a city better known for its peaks than for its fall color.
