This 1974 Delta Air Lines poster distills Hawaii into its most beloved images on a crisp white ground. Hula dancers sway in grass skirts while a surfer rides a curling wave, two symbols that had defined the islands in the American imagination since the early days of tourism. The illustrated collage style and clean background tie it to Delta's other destination posters from the same year, including Detroit, New Orleans, New York, North Carolina and San Francisco.
