A Delta McDonnell Douglas MD-90 is caught against a glowing sunset in this horizontal 1995 poster, marking the arrival of a brand-new jet. Delta was the MD-90's launch customer: on 14 November 1989 it ordered 50 of the aircraft with options on 110 more, and the first MD-90 was delivered to Delta in February 1995, the year the type entered service. A quieter, cleaner development of the MD-80 family, Delta's MD-90s were powered by IAE V2525-D5 turbofans from the V2500 engine family. The poster celebrates a jet that would serve the airline for more than two decades. The artist is not recorded.
