Delta Air Lines packed New York City into a lively collage for this 1974 poster. The Statue of Liberty stands at the center, torch raised, surrounded by illustrated glimpses of the city around her, all set on a clean white ground. The style matches Delta's destination posters from the same year for Detroit, Hawaii, New Orleans, North Carolina and San Francisco, each one reducing a place to a few unmistakable symbols. The artist is not recorded on our copy. It is a cheerful mid-1970s view of the city, built around its most famous welcome to arriving travelers.
