Delta's roots go back to Huff Daland Dusters, a crop-dusting company founded in 1925, and the airline took its name from the Mississippi Delta when Delta Air Service was incorporated in 1928. Headquarters moved from Monroe, Louisiana, to Atlanta in 1941, and the company officially became Delta Air Lines in 1945. Airlines gave stickers like this to passengers to put on their luggage.
