The phrase echoes Delta's early jet-age advertising: the Delta Flight Museum lists 'Delta the airline with the BIG JETS' as a 1959 slogan, the year Delta began DC-8 service on September 18 with Flight 823 from New York's Idlewild airport to Atlanta.
