A Deutsche BA Boeing 737-300 cruises across a white strip, its tail painted in a bold mosaic of red, gold, black and white triangles, with the type name above. The airline began in 1978 as Delta Air, a regional carrier from Friedrichshafen; British Airways bought 49 percent in 1992 and renamed it Deutsche BA, taking full ownership in 1997. The fleet was later streamlined to 18 Boeing 737-300s. The airline became dba in 2003 and was absorbed by Air Berlin in 2008.
