This Eastern Air Lines poster distills New Orleans into a single evening scene in the French Quarter. Lacy iron balconies line the street, a horse-drawn carriage clip-clops past below, and a moon hangs over the rooftops, the timeless picture of the old Creole city that drew visitors for its music, food and architecture. The artist is not recorded on our copy. New Orleans was a long-standing stop on Eastern's network across the American South, and posters like this one invited travelers to trade the airport for a slow carriage ride through the Vieux Carre.
