Green palm fronds frame an orange falcon on this sunny round Eastern Air Lines label, with Florida Flyer lettered in bold capitals on a pale yellow panel. Florida was the heart of Eastern's business: in the 1930s its New York to Florida route via Atlanta was the airline's dominant service, and Miami became one of its great bases. Eddie Rickenbacker, who bought the airline in 1938, built on that north-south network to make Eastern one of America's leading airlines.
