This TWA poster looks down the Chicago River at twilight, its bridges stepping off into the distance between dark towers, with a white jet crossing the sky and "CHICAGO" and a red "Fly TWA" across the top. It is attributed to Austin Briggs (1908–1973), the magazine illustrator who drew the Flash Gordon comic strip in the 1940s and later taught at the Famous Artists School, and dates from around 1960. It is a moodier, painterly take on the city next to TWA's brighter, poster-flat designs of the same years.
