This 1950s TWA poster sets the scene on Michigan Avenue at dusk, with one of the bronze lions that guard the Art Institute of Chicago looming over the sidewalk and the city's towers rising behind. The lions are by sculptor Edward Kemeys and have stood at the museum entrance since 1893. Overhead, a Lockheed Constellation — the graceful triple-tailed propliner TWA flew before the jet age — crosses the sky above. The artist is not recorded.
