Klein first painted this design around 1958 as a "Los Angeles" poster, then TWA reissued it in the early 1960s as "Hollywood" with a jet in place of the original propliner — the Hollywood version is the scarcer of the two. Searchlights sweep a deep blue night sky above palm trees and the glowing shell of the Hollywood Bowl, with a premiere-night sparkle across the hills. Klein (1918–2005) was TWA's signature poster artist through the late 1950s and 1960s.
