David Klein based this India poster on the look of an Indian wall relief: a jeweled ceremonial elephant carries a howdah — the canopied seat a ruler rode in during processions — framed within a decorative tiled border, with "India" above and a bold red "Fly TWA" below. Dealers date it to the late 1950s, and it was reissued as the airline moved from propellers to jets. Klein (1918–2005) was TWA's signature poster artist for more than a decade.
