For TWA's Israel poster, David Klein turned the menorah into the whole composition: its seven branches rise in stacked green blocks and mosaic-like rounds, with the domes, towers and walls of Jerusalem gathered at its base and a TWA jet crossing between them. The heavy, angular "ISRAEL" lettering and the small red "Fly TWA" are classic Klein — a simple emblem, a flat cream ground and nothing extra. Klein (1918–2005) created TWA's best-known destination posters in the late 1950s and 1960s, as the airline's jets opened routes to Europe, the Middle East and beyond.
