David Klein's Paris poster for TWA dates from around 1960, just after the airline put its first Boeing 707s into service, which is why it reads "Fly TWA Jets." Klein drew the Eiffel Tower as a lattice of white light against a black night sky, with bursts of fireworks in pink, yellow, green and blue going off all around it and a TWA jet passing overhead. The festive, celebratory mood was the point — Paris as a party you could now reach overnight. Klein (1918–2005) was the artist behind TWA's most famous jet-age travel posters.
