This 1957 TWA poster celebrates the airline's new polar route between Europe and California, flown with the Lockheed L-1649A, which TWA called the "Jetstream." The aircraft streaks over the top of the globe beneath the green curtains of the northern lights, with London, Paris, San Francisco and Los Angeles marked below. TWA put the Jetstream into service in 1957, and that fall one flew the first nonstop from Los Angeles to London. The artist is not recorded.
