Hawaiian Airlines in flowing white script frames this square label, with a striped red sail on an outrigger canoe in the foreground and a twin-engine propliner passing overhead between palm-lined islands. It pairs old Polynesian voyaging with the newer way of hopping between islands. Hawaiian took its name in October 1941, the same year its first Douglas DC-3s arrived, and those piston airliners stayed in its fleet into the late 1960s.
