This Iberia Air Lines of Spain poster sells the Canary Islands through one of their own. A woman in traditional island costume carries a basket heaped with fruit, with the beach and sea opening up behind her. The Canaries, a Spanish archipelago off the Atlantic coast of Africa, are known for their mild year-round climate and for the bananas and other produce grown in their volcanic soil, both hinted at here. For Iberia, the islands were a flagship destination reached only by sea or by air. The artist and date are not recorded on our copy.
