Spain's most famous literary pair rides across this Iberia poster from around 1960. Don Quixote, the lanky self-made knight of Miguel de Cervantes' novel, sits tall on his horse, with his faithful squire Sancho Panza at his side, set against a cool blue ground. Cervantes published the first part of Don Quixote in 1605, and its wandering hero has stood for Spain and the plains of La Mancha ever since. By choosing him, Iberia offered travelers a Spain of culture and imagination as well as sunshine. The artist is not recorded on our copy.
