This Iberia Air Lines of Spain poster from around the 1950s presents Madrid in soft blue-gray tones. A woman in the foreground looks out toward the curved, arcaded walls of a bullring, one of the most recognizable sights of the Spanish capital and a magnet for visitors in that era. Madrid was the hub of Iberia's network, the starting point for flights across Spain, Europe and the Atlantic, so the city was a natural subject for posters printed in English for foreign travelers. The artist is not recorded on our copy.
