"Royal Dutch Air Lines - Amsterdam-Batavia v.v. weekly." This restored, vintage-style design advertises the KLM weekly service between Amsterdam and Batavia, today Jakarta, then the capital of the Dutch East Indies. The abbreviation v.v., for vice versa, tells the traveler that the service ran in both directions. An airliner flies across a bold red globe, a fitting image for one of the longest regular air routes of its day, linking the Netherlands with its colony on the far side of the world. The art has been cleaned up and re-created for print.
