Framed in a silver-grey oval, an Airbus A320 in LAN Chile's white, blue and red livery cruises beneath the airline's starred LANCHILE wordmark, with the Airbus logo and "A320" below. LAN Chile was founded by Air Force Commodore Arturo Merino Benítez and began operations in March 1929. The A320 family became the backbone of its short-haul fleet, and in 2008 the last Boeing 737 was retired in their favour. The airline became LAN Airlines in 2004 and has flown as LATAM since 2016.
