A triple-tailed, four-engine airliner sweeps across a golden oval above flowing script reading Linea Aeropostal Venezolana, with a round LAV monogram and the line The Venezuelan Air Line. The airline grew out of the French company Aéropostale, which began flying in Venezuela in 1929. The Venezuelan government bought the operation at the end of 1933 and renamed it Línea Aeropostal Venezolana on 1 January 1935. In March 1947 LAV put Lockheed Constellations on a direct Caracas to New York route.
