Bold navy LOT lettering overlaps a red AIR TOURS wordmark on this slanted white sticker from the Polish Airlines travel bureau, which lists its Warsaw street address alongside telephone, telex and fax numbers. Travel offices passed out stickers like this to the customers they booked. LOT was founded in 1929, and its crane emblem, designed at the turn of 1929 and 1930 by the poster artist Tadeusz Gronowski for a competition held by the new airline, has flown with it ever since.
