"Nix wie weg hier" is everyday German for "let's get out of here", and LTU put it in heavy white capitals on a red sticker with its boxed International Airways logo below. It was the perfect line for an airline built around holiday flights. LTU began operations in 1956 and made Düsseldorf its hub and headquarters from 1961; it was also the only German airline to fly the Lockheed L-1011 TriStar. Stickers like this were given to travellers to slap on a suitcase on the way to the beach.
