A giant translucent M rises over a deep blue sky on this oval sticker, with Munich Airport's terminal, control tower and parked jets stretched along the bottom. The airport opened on May 17, 1992, replacing Munich-Riem, which closed the day before. It is named after Franz Josef Strauss, the former Bavarian premier who backed the project, and serves as a hub for Lufthansa. A crisp souvenir of one of Europe's major gateways.
