A flying boat skims the water while an airliner passes overhead in this bold red poster for the City of New York Municipal Airports. It was produced by the WPA Federal Art Project in New York, and copies are dated to around 1937; the artist is not named. The lettering lists Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn and North Beach in Queens, along with the seaplane bases on the East River at Wall Street and 31st Street, and credits Mayor F. H. LaGuardia. North Beach was soon rebuilt into New York Municipal Airport, opened in 1939 and later renamed LaGuardia Airport.
