A stylized teal bird glides over a set of gold concentric rings on this soft cream die-cut label, with North Central spelled out in widely spaced capitals and Airlines in script. The airline was founded in 1944 as Wisconsin Central Airlines in Clintonville, Wisconsin, and took the North Central name in December 1952, later basing itself in Minneapolis. Its flying-duck mascot, Herman, became one of the best-known airline symbols in the Midwest. Airlines handed out stickers like this one for passengers' luggage.
