Herman, North Central's blue flying duck, sails through a circle on this round label, with Route of the Northliners in red script above and the airline name on a bold red band below. North Central began in 1944 as Wisconsin Central Airlines and adopted its new name in 1952. Herman first appeared on the airline's aircraft around 1948-49 and stayed with it until North Central merged with Southern Airways in July 1979 to form Republic Airlines. A classic Midwestern airline label.
