A thin red line streaks across this cream label from the Northeast Airlines name to a small four-engine airliner, with the slogan First in New England Skies in fine capitals beneath. Northeast grew out of Boston-Maine Airways, started by the Boston and Maine Railroad in the early 1930s, and took the Northeast Airlines name in November 1940. From its Boston base it served New England and reached as far as Montreal. Northeast merged into Delta Air Lines on August 1, 1972.
